Wasn't going to post this because this is news from this morning but Yahoo picked it up and put it on their front page (must be a slow news day).
Joel presented severe discomfort late last night at his home in suburban Chicago. He went to the emergency room and was admitted early this morning.
He is currently in stable condition and is being treated for an undisclosed health concern today, not of cardiac nature. Further testing is ongoing and we will provide an update when possible.
Assistant coach Mike Haviland will coach the Hawks tonight. Hopefully this is the spark the Blackhawks need to make a big run into the playoffs. There's no better time to get hot then now and have that momentum carry over into the playoffs. The Blackhawks are a team no higher seed wants to see if they do make it to the playoffs.
