Who is Nicolas Batum you may ask? The same Nicolas Batum that got lit up early in the season by Luol Deng. Yes, Luol Deng. Deng scored 40 in that game on 14-19 shooting. So wait, Derrick Rose is the bad defender?
Derrick was a horrific defender in his rookie year and the majority of his sophomore year but this year Derrick has easily turned into one of the top defending guards in the NBA. Sure his defense wasn't that great tonight but it's just one game. No longer do you see point guards racking up points against the Bulls anymore. Derrick Rose is a good defender and hopefully this quote gets shoved down his throat by the media to motivate him even more.
